Mark de Clive-Lowe
Tide's Arising

Genre: Hip-Hop
Year: 2005
Country: USA
Official Site: Mark de Clive-Lowe
Details: Tracks & Audio
Label: ABB Records
While I must admit not being the biggest fan of soul music, Mark de Clive-Lowe's Tide Arising immediately catches your attention with its rich arrangements, mix of genres and its strong rhythmic work.

Soul, Funk, Hip-Hop, Disco, Jazz & Electro perfectly blend here, while the mostly feminine voices bring a dose of charm to the ensemble.

Favorites here include "Traveling", "State of the Mental" & "Syndrome" but Clive-Lowe manages to deliver on the entirety of this album the kind of good vibes you like to hear late at night, like on KCRW's Chocolate City radio show.
