With its mixture of electronic, industrial, rock and rap music, this compilation is the perfect soundtrack for a film addressed to the Lara Croft generation.
The album opens on a lightly industrial remix of U2's "Elevation". Though the contribution from Nine Inch Nails isn't anything really new, "Galaxy Bounce" by the Chemical Brothers gives a funky foretaste of their next opus.
The soundtrack then takes a turn with Missy Elliot's excellent rap "Get Ur Freak On" accompanied by Nelly Furtado as well as "Speedballin" by Outkast.
It's impossible to circumvent the apostles of techno: from "Ain't Never Learned" by Moby , Fluke's recycled "Absurd", Leftfield's "Song Of Life" and of course to Fat Boy Slim. BT is also a member of the party with effective "Revolution" while Basement Jaxx offers an extract of their latest disc, House and cacphonic "Where' s Your Head At?". Bosco brings his electro touch with "Satellite" while Groove Armada and Oxide are fairly forgettable. But the best piece is without a doubt the bewitching "Terra Firma" by Delirium, somewhere halfway between Enigma and Ofra Haza.
A not very original, but certainly quite effective soundtrack.
