As Qwill and the Siamese set out on a vacation of sorts. (Qwill help
is needed by friends who run the Inn in which they will spend their
sabbatical). He sets to solve the mysteries, while adding to his now
well known and read newspaper column. A charismatic man, that,
with the assistance of KoKo, the siamese with supernatural gifts
where death is concerned.
A descriptive and chatty mystery in which the murders are more
incidental in the grand scheme of things, and keeps you entertained
as well as being a great book to end the summer with, before the
snow 'flies'.
A Death in Demand Mystery. Contemporary.
Annie Darling, owner of my favorite, and most charming, bookstore in the
South, is having a book signing and contest; all is going well until a copycat
starts putting flyers all over the island, with clues that can discredit Annie;
and her bookstore. The clues and insinuations of which aim to tarnish the
reputation of many an island residents.
Accidents that span sixteen years, the flyers imply, were really crimes.
It is up to Annie and Max Darling to clear up vicious accusations, and any
further death.
A Thomas and Charlotte Pitt Victorian Mystery.
Intense and provocative novel in the depth and knowledge of Victorian
times. The superficial facade that society presented to the world. A thin
veneer of civility that covered the power struggles of the era.
Of hidden passions and secrets. The lure of power above all law, and the
men that would do anything to aquire it; including murder. Thomas Pitt, most once again engage in a battle of wits between factions; to preserve an Empire, that most be kept at all cost.
Once again the Emerson's return to their beloved land, Egypt, to begin
excavations with their extended family and friends. And spend a few
days in Cairo visiting their many acquaintances.
But in those days with World War I raging on all fronts, their plans are
altered as the war office intrudes into their lives, and feeling bound to
do their duty and assist where it is needed; espionage and the excavation
of ancient tombs.
The Emerson's with their usual panache, daring and courage that only
they can summon, and feats of courage, that only they can survive,
make this one a true Golden One with a few surprises for the reader.
