Of course, it doesn't mean you are limited to these dimensions as, in most cases, sizing can be customized as low as 8x4 and can go up to 8x10. Here are some basics, which should help you decide what size you need:

. With an 8x12 wall, you can have up to 6 people standing/walking.

If you are still not sure what size is best for you, you should take the following elements into consideration:

. The bigger the event, the bigger you want your media wall to be, and vice versa.

. If you have lots of guests, you will need a long backdrop so they don't waste too much time walking the red carpet.

. If you want the logos to be printed big, you will need a bigger banner, as you can't cram a bunch of designs on small space - this wouldn't look good and be confusing.
. As the size of the backdrop increases, the price will increase.

Also, you might also want to discuss this with your photographer if you are planning to immortalize your event. Angles and lighting are important if you want to make everything look glamorous and important.
