Looking at the cheesy cover of this CD, I was expecting something terrible, but Poetica turns out to be a pretty decent dance album, filled with catchy melodies without using the kind of Ibiza sounds that usually give me rashes.

The album has a nice light electro-pop feel and singer Nadia has a pretty sensual voice.

Most of the songs are pretty short, with a smooth sound and sing-along choruses — if you go to clubs, you might have danced on their hit "Rapture". My favorite songs here are the Arabic techno-ish "Metric", mixing electronic & congas, "The One" and "What a Day".

However, the fact that Poetica is positioned as a concept album mixing dance and poetry is pretty amusing, as Iio's lyrics are to poetry what Thomas Kincade is to art.

But despite the failed attempt at poetry, Poetica is still fairly satisfying.
