Iio Poetica review
|
The album has a nice light electro-pop feel and singer Nadia has a pretty sensual voice. Most of the songs are pretty short, with a smooth sound and sing-along choruses if you go to clubs, you might have danced on their hit "Rapture". My favorite songs here are the Arabic techno-ish "Metric", mixing electronic & congas, "The One" and "What a Day". However, the fact that Poetica is positioned as a concept album mixing dance and poetry is pretty amusing, as Iio's lyrics are to poetry what Thomas Kincade is to art. But despite the failed attempt at poetry, Poetica is still fairly satisfying.
