Peaches
Teaches of Peaches

Although she's been associated with the electro revival, Peaches distinguishes herself from her congeners with her more varied musical approach and disturbing punk rock attitude.

Her music might be electronic at the base, but especially noticeable is the assimilation of other influences, from techno, big beats and industrial to punk, grunge and rap. The dark melodies and moments of rage that traverse this album give her a threatening aura while the salacious and/or ironic lyrics reflect her taste for provocation and irony.

Various artists such as the Lords of Acid, Miss Kittin, Hole and L7 come to mind, but this musical cocktail especially approaches the more eclectic inclination of Moby who never hesitates to mix styles in his albums. This is a judicious choice that allows the listener not to be trapped by the repetition of monotonous rhythms, which is often the case among electro acts, thus avoiding boredom. The Teaches of Peaches oscillates constantly between dark electro, erotic-dance and punk rock lightning. If the heady single "Set it off" has already proved reliable, also noticeable is the excellent minimalist electro anthem "AA XXX" and "Fuck the pain away" with its mixture of synthetic sounds and live drums. The remaining tracks blend in without faux pas, bringing a great breeze of fresh air to the sometimes too partitioned electroklash universe.

To keep the fun going, the album includes a bonus CD featuring "Casanova" as well as various remixes and videos.
