I'm not familiar with Miss Suzanne Fields' body of work, but by watching Gunilla she seems to have had a fetish for kinky boots as the opening scene and other following sequences can attest.
Embodying Gunilla is a depressed young Swedish woman vacationing in a ski resort. Fields always look sad and absent, whether she walks in the snow or engages in other physical activities which, combined with the narrative voice-over, for a moment made me wonder if I wasn't watching an existentialist oeuvre rather than a piece of 70's sexploitation. But rest assured you avid cinephiles out there, this isn't an ode to Sartre. After all, when she's not skiing or wandering in the snowy forests, Gunilla spends the rest of her time playing with her boots, peeping through windows and having lesbian and hetero encounters.
To be frank, I don't find Fields and the rest of the cast attractive, a feeling that remains with the two other short films included in this DVD: Kinky Casting Couch and The Mind Blowers — the latter even features action with some old bald guy! As for Kinky Casting Couch, which takes place in Hollywood, the lesson here is that things haven't changed much in the last 3 decades. Even though I'm not lucky enough to be a casting agent, I spend enough time in Tinseltown to confirm that the practice hasn't disappeared!
