With a title like Chainsaw Sally, you know what to expect and it's exactly what you get: some good campy gore that doesn't take itself seriously.
While video house Schock-o-rama specializes in the horror and gore genres, the result is not always convincing, but here they manage to deliver the goods in terms of cheap but entertaining thrills.
This tale of a cute and shy secretary (April Monique Burril) who at night turns into a Goth with a chainsaw fetish also features Gunna Hansen (Leatherface from the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and Herschell Gordon Lewis of Two Thousand Maniacs and Blood Feast fame.
While modest the production aims at a certain level of quality and takes enough time on the characters to not just make it a succession of gore scenes which are actually pretty scarce here, focusing instead on psychological tension.
The only regret for the amateur of the genre might be its lack of nudity, since the female cast is quite attractive, but after all Chainsaw Sally proves that bad cinema can be good when it's not overdone.
There are plenty of special features as well, from a making-of to interviews and a music video.
